Scottish Claymore Sword, 122cms | Claymore Swords

This claymore's blade is made of hand-forged carbon steel. It has the traditional shamrock-decorated guard. The blade is screwed to the hilt after being manufactured in one piece. The black leather hilt is wrapped around the wooden hilt.

The blade is not sharpened.

The claymore is a two-handed sword that was popular in Scotland in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Claidhem-More, Claidhmhichean-mora, Glaymore, claidheamh mr. are some of the terms and spellings for this sword, the majority of which come from Gaelic: Claidhem-More, Claidhmhichean-mora, Glaymore, claidheamh mr. They all just mean "great sword." It's a two-handed sword with a double-edged blade and a wide guard, commonly in the shape of a "v" with circular ornamentation at the end. A lengthy leather wrapped ricasso was common on previous claymore swords.
